The Long Island Motor Parkway Trail Update- July 10, 2009
For several years many Long Island groups have been trying to preserve the right-of way of the Long Island Motor Parkway and create a greenway and recreational trail called the "Long Island Motor Parkway Trail". These groups include; the Long Island Motor Parkway Panel led by Sam Berliner, Pedal Pushers Online, Parks and Trails New York and C.L.I.M.B. led by Michael Vitti.

The Stimulus Bill and the Motor Parkway
The Long Island Business News reported on Wednesday that Suffolk County plans to ask the state for its fair share of the federal stimulus funds. Among the three shovel-ready projectsready to go is a "$4 million resurfacing job on Motor Parkway." This amount represents about double the initial capitalization of the parkway in 1906.
